At Risk

I often stop at the book donation shelf at our local grocery store.  Sometimes I'm dropping books off, and other times I'm picking them up.  Recently I happened upon, and later read, "At Risk" by Alice Hoffman.  The book was published in the late 80's and is based on what happens in a small New England town when one of it's members contracts HIV.  Hysteria sets in because the story is set in a time when most people were just learning about HIV and AIDS.  Even though we're more educated these days, I could imagine the book playing out in real life.

The book was a quick read and I recommend it.
